Prayagraj | Allahabad University PG Admission 2026:
The University has introduced a fully online admission process for all PG programmes, allowing eligible candidates to register through the official E-Counselling Portal using their PGAT-2026 credentials.
University Conducts Admission Coordination Meeting
A meeting of the University Admission Committee was held at Pravesh Bhawan to finalize arrangements for PG Admissions for the academic session 2026-27.
Around 60 departmental admission coordinators participated in the training session where they were informed about the online counselling workflow, document verification, fee submission process, and admission guidelines.
Fully Online PG Admission Process
The University has adopted a completely online counselling and admission system for PG programmes.
Eligible candidates can register through the University's PG Admission Portal by logging in with their PGAT-2026 Login Credentials.
The counselling process will be conducted digitally, eliminating the need for physical registration during the initial stages.
Merit Lists Released from July 9
The University has announced that individual departments will publish their course-wise merit lists (cut-off lists) on the admission dashboard and the University website beginning July 9, 2026.
Candidates are advised to regularly check the portal for department-wise cut-offs and counselling updates.
Online Registration Starts from July 10
Candidates whose PGAT-2026 scores fall within the notified departmental merit list will be eligible to register online from July 10, 2026.
Only candidates included in the published merit list for a particular course can proceed with the counselling registration.
Admission Confirmation After Verification
The University has clarified that admission will not be confirmed immediately after registration.
Candidates will first undergo document verification by the concerned PGAT Admission Coordinator.
Only after successful verification will applicants be permitted to:
- Deposit the admission fee
- Confirm their allotted seat
- Complete the admission process
Keep Scanned Documents Ready
Applicants have been advised to keep scanned copies of the following documents ready before beginning online counselling:
- Class 10 Certificate and Marksheet
- Class 12 Certificate and Marksheet
- Graduation Marksheet
- Graduation Certificate
- Other supporting academic documents, wherever applicable
Uploading clear and readable scanned documents will help avoid delays during verification.
Category Certificate Must Be in Central Government Format
Candidates seeking admission under any reserved category must upload a recent caste certificate issued in the Central Government Format.
Certificates issued in any other format may not be accepted during verification.
Sports and PwD Candidates
The University has informed that candidates applying under:
- Sports Quota
- Persons with Disabilities (PwD)
will be separately called for verification by the Sports Board and the Medical Board, respectively.
Undertaking Forms Available Online
Various undertaking forms have been made available for download through the counselling portal, including:
- Gap Year Undertaking
- Parent's Undertaking
- Migration/Transfer Certificate Undertaking
- Other required declarations
Candidates should download and submit the appropriate undertaking wherever applicable.
APAAR ID Mandatory for Admission
As per the guidelines of the University Grants Commission (UGC), all applicants must possess an APAAR (Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry) ID.
Candidates who do not already have an APAAR ID can generate one through:
- DigiLocker
- The official APAAR Portal
The APAAR ID will be required during the admission process.
Important Instructions for Candidates
- Check the departmental merit lists regularly.
- Register only if your PGAT score falls within the announced cut-off.
- Upload clear scanned documents.
- Keep original documents ready for future verification.
- Ensure your caste certificate is in the Central Government format.
- Generate your APAAR ID before completing admission.
- Complete fee payment only after successful verification by the Admission Coordinator.
