NTA Issues Important Notice for CUET UG 2026 Candidates
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued an important notice for candidates appearing in the Common University Entrance Test Undergraduate (CUET UG) 2026 after a technical glitch delayed the commencement of the examination at some centres on May 30, 2026.
According to NTA, its technology partner TCS reported a technical issue that affected the smooth start of the examination at certain centres. The agency clarified that the issue has now been resolved and the examination process is continuing normally.
NTA has assured candidates that full compensatory time is being provided to ensure that no student suffers any disadvantage due to the delay. The agency also expressed regret for the inconvenience caused to students and parents.
Revised CUET UG 2026 Afternoon Session Timing
Following the technical disruption, NTA revised the timing for the afternoon session scheduled on May 30, 2026.
Revised Schedule
- Reporting and Entry: From 2:30 PM
- Examination Start Time: 4:00 PM
- Earlier Scheduled Start Time: 3:00 PM
Candidates appearing in the afternoon shift were advised to report according to the revised schedule communicated by the agency.
Full Examination Duration for All Candidates
NTA has clarified that all affected candidates will receive the complete duration of the examination despite the delayed start.
Morning session candidates are also being provided the full examination duration and will be allowed to leave the examination hall only after completing the allotted paper duration. This decision has been taken to maintain fairness and uniformity for all candidates.
The testing agency emphasized that no candidate will lose examination time because of the technical issue encountered during the conduct of the test.
Recent CUET UG 2026 Updates
The latest development comes days after NTA announced revised examination dates for candidates whose May 28 examinations were postponed due to the Bakrid holiday.
The postponed examinations are now being conducted on May 31, June 6 and June 7, 2026, and revised admit cards have already been released for affected candidates.

Candidates appearing in the remaining CUET UG 2026 examinations should:
- Regularly check the official website for updates
- Download the latest admit card
- Reach the examination centre well before reporting time
