CMP Degree College Announces 1st National Socio-Legal Essay Writing Competition 2025
Prayagraj, September 9, 2025 – C.M.P. Degree College, a constituent P.G. College of the University of Allahabad, has officially announced the 1st CMP National Socio-Legal Essay Writing Competition 2025. The competition is being organized by the Department of Law, B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) Programme on the occasion of International Day of Older Persons.
The theme for this year’s competition is:
“Justice in the Golden Years: Examining Legal, Ethical & Policy Dimensions for India’s Senior Citizens.”
Competition Highlights
- Eligibility – Students of Five-Year Integrated Law Programmes, LL.B., LL.M., and other students from universities/colleges with an interest in elderly rights.
- Mode of Submission – Online via email.
- Word Limit – Essays should range between 2,500 – 3,000 words.
Prizes & Recognition
- First Prize: ₹7,000
- Second Prize: ₹5,000
- Third Prize: ₹2,000
In addition:
- All participants will be awarded E-certificates.
- The top five essays will receive certificates of merit.
- Selected essays will be published in a book with ISBN for wider academic recognition.
Objective of the Competition
The initiative aims to spread awareness about the challenges faced by senior citizens in India while encouraging academic discourse on legal, ethical, and policy issues. It also seeks to develop research skills, writing abilities, and critical thinking among law students and scholars.
