New Delhi, September 2025 – The Bar Council of India (BCI) has opened the gateway for law graduates to apply for the All India Bar Examination (AIBE) 20 (XX) 2025. The exam is conducted as a certification test for advocates who wish to practice law in India. Candidates who qualify will be awarded the Certificate of Practice (COP) by the BCI.
AIBE 20 (XX) 2025 – Eligibility Criteria
Before applying for the AIBE exam, candidates must carefully check the eligibility requirements set by the BCI.
Qualifying Exam
- Candidates must have completed either:
- 3-year LLB degree, OR
- 5-year integrated LLB degree from a recognized university.
Minimum Marks in Qualifying Exam
- No minimum marks are required for appearing in AIBE.
- However, universities may prescribe minimum percentage or grade requirements for pursuing higher education after LLB.
Age Limit for AIBE
- No age limit (upper or lower) has been prescribed by BCI.
- Candidates of any age group with a valid law degree can appear.
State Bar Council (SBC) Enrollment
- Mandatory requirement: Candidates must be enrolled as advocates with their respective State Bar Councils.
- Without SBC registration, candidates cannot apply for the AIBE 20 (XX) exam.
AIBE 20 (XX) 2025 – Application Process
Candidates can apply for AIBE 20 (XX) 2025 online by following a few simple steps.
Step 1: Registration
- Visit the official AIBE website – allindiabarexamination.com.
- Click on the Registration Link.
- Fill in basic details like name, email ID, mobile number, and academic information.
➡️ After registration, candidates will receive their AIBE 20 Registration Number and Password on their registered email ID.
Step 2: Login and Fill Application Form
- Use the credentials (Registration Number & Password) to log in.
- Enter the following details:
- Full Name
- Gender
- Father’s/Husband’s Name
- Date of Birth
- Permanent Address
- Mobile Number & Email ID
- Choice of Test Paper Language (select one from available options)
- Test Centre Preferences (minimum 3 options)
Step 3: Upload Documents
- Candidates will have to upload scanned copies of:
- Photograph
- Signature
- Enrollment Certificate from State Bar Council
- LLB Degree/Provisional Certificate
Step 4: Payment of Fees
- Pay the prescribed application fee through online payment gateway.
- Once payment is successful, the application process will be completed.
Why is AIBE 20 Important?
The All India Bar Examination (AIBE) is a qualifying test that determines whether a law graduate is eligible to practice as a lawyer in Indian courts. Without clearing the AIBE, candidates cannot obtain the Certificate of Practice (COP) from the Bar Council of India.
