MWCD Invites Applications for Internship Programme 2026

The Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD), Government of India, has invited applications for its Internship Programme aimed at providing women students, scholars, social activists, and teachers with practical exposure to policy formulation, governance, and programmes related to women and child welfare.

The internship offers participants an opportunity to work closely with the Ministry's initiatives, conduct pilot projects and micro-studies, and gain first-hand experience in policy analysis and implementation. Selected interns will receive a monthly stipend of ₹20,000 along with travel reimbursement and hostel accommodation in Delhi.

Interested candidates can submit their applications online by June 10, 2026.

Internship Duration and Batches

The Ministry conducts the internship programme in four batches every financial year.

May – June 2 Months
August – September 2 Months
November – December 2 Months
February – March 2 Months

Each internship term lasts for a period of two months.

For the August-September 2026 batch, applications are being accepted from June 1 to June 10, 2026.

Number of Seats

The Ministry will select:

Up to 20 Interns Per Batch

Selection will be made based on eligibility, suitability, and the objectives of the programme.

Stipend and Benefits

Selected candidates will receive a range of benefits during the internship.

Monthly Stipend

  • ₹20,000 per month (lump sum)

Travel Reimbursement

The Ministry will reimburse travel expenses for joining and completing the internship programme through:

  • Deluxe Bus
  • AC Bus
  • AC 3-Tier Train

As per applicable rules.

Hostel Accommodation

Willing candidates will be provided:

  • Hostel accommodation in Delhi
  • Shared basis accommodation
  • Available throughout the internship duration

These facilities make the programme particularly beneficial for candidates from rural and non-metropolitan regions.

Selected candidates will work closely with various divisions and departments of the Ministry of Women and Child Development.
