CMP Degree College Hosts “SANSAD–I” Inter-College Parliamentary Debate Competition 2026 on Civil Services Day
On the occasion of National Civil Services Day, CMP Degree College successfully organised “SANSAD–I: First Inter-College Parliamentary Debate Competition, 2026” under the aegis of the B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) Department of Law. The event emerged as a significant academic initiative aimed at fostering legal discourse and democratic engagement among students.
The programme was conducted under the visionary leadership of Principal Prof. Ajay Prakash Khare, with coordination by Mrs. Renu Singh. Faculty members of the B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) programme actively participated in organising and overseeing the event, ensuring its smooth execution.
The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from multiple constituent colleges along with the Faculty of Law, University of Allahabad, making it a vibrant inter-collegiate platform for intellectual exchange and advocacy.
🏛️ Parliamentary Debate Format and Rounds
The competition followed a structured parliamentary debate format, designed to simulate real legislative discussions. It was conducted in two stages:
- Preliminary Round
- Final Round
During the preliminary round, participants debated on the motion:
“All India Judicial Services should be initiated.”
Teams were assigned roles as Government and Opposition, which ensured a balanced, dynamic, and analytical discussion. The format encouraged participants to present well-reasoned arguments, engage in rebuttals, and demonstrate strong oratory skills.
The debate structure not only tested legal awareness but also enhanced participants’ understanding of constitutional governance and judicial reforms in India.

The competition was evaluated by a distinguished panel comprising legal professionals and academicians:

After intense rounds of debate, the winning title was secured by
Ishwar Saran Degree College.
The Winning Team and Runner-Up participants included:

The prestigious Best Speaker Award was conferred upon
Bushra Kamal for her exceptional articulation and impactful arguments.
