CMP Degree College to Host ‘SANSAD-I’ Parliamentary Debate Competition 2026 on Civil Services Day
Prayagraj: CMP Degree College, a constituent PG college of University of Allahabad, has announced the 1st Inter-Collegiate Parliamentary Debate Competition 2026 titled “SANSAD-I.” The event will be organised on April 21, 2026, marking the occasion of National Civil Services Day.
The initiative aims to promote constitutional awareness, democratic dialogue, and legal reasoning skills among law students in Prayagraj.

The competition is being organised by the B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) Programme of CMP Degree College. It is designed as a parliamentary-style debate, simulating real legislative proceedings similar to the Lok Sabha.
Participants will engage in structured debates on contemporary legal and constitutional issues, enhancing advocacy, argumentation, and policy analysis skills.

👩⚖️ Eligibility Criteria
- Open to undergraduate law students (LL.B / BA LL.B)

👥 Team Participation Rules
- Each team will consist of 2 speakers
- Maximum 10 teams allowed in total
- Maximum 2 teams per institution
- Selection will be on a first-come, first-served basis
🗳️ Debate Format & Motions
The competition will be conducted in two rounds:
🔹 Preliminary Round Motion
“This House supports the establishment of the All-India Judicial Service.”
🔹 Final Round Motion
“This House would introduce a statutory ceiling on lawyers’ professional fees.”
Each participant will get:
- 5 minutes speaking time
- 2 minutes rebuttal time
Teams will be assigned Proposition or Opposition through a draw of lots.
