Ministry of Women and Child Development Internship 2025 Announced
The Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD), Government of India, has officially invited applications for its Internship Programme 2025. The initiative aims to provide women students, scholars, teachers, and social activists from rural and non-tier I cities a platform to gain hands-on experience in policy-making, research, and women & child development initiatives.
About the Ministry of Women and Child Development
The MWCD is the apex body of the Government of India responsible for formulating and implementing policies, laws, and programmes related to women and child development. The internship provides participants with qualitative exposure to its mandate, including opportunities for micro-studies, pilot projects, and policy analysis.
Who Can Apply? | Eligibility Criteria
The internship programme is open to:
- Women students, scholars, teachers, and social activists.
- Applicants from Non-Tier I cities and rural areas.
- Candidates aged 21–40 years.
- Must be enrolled in or associated with any university/academic or non-academic institution.
⚠️ Note: Once selected for one batch, candidates cannot reapply for subsequent terms.
Internship Duration and Batches
The MWCD Internship Programme is offered in four distinct terms each financial year:
- May – June
- August – September
- November – December
- February – March
Each batch will run for two months. The location of internship is New Delhi, with hostel accommodation available on a sharing basis.
Stipend, Benefits and Facilities
Selected interns will receive the following benefits:
- Stipend: ₹20,000/- per month (lump sum).
- Travel Reimbursement: Deluxe/AC bus or 3-Tier AC train fare for joining and returning.
- Hostel Facility: Provided on sharing basis in Delhi during the internship.
Number of Seats
The Ministry will select up to 20 interns per batch.
Last Date to Apply
The last date to apply for the current cycle is September 10, 2025.
Applications can be submitted two months prior to the start of each internship term. For example:
- For May–June batch: Apply between March 1–10
- For August–September batch: Apply between June 1–10
