National Legal Services Authority Invites Applications for One-Month Internship Programme 2026
The National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) has announced its Internship Programme 2026 for law students across the country. The internship is aimed at providing practical exposure to the functioning of legal services institutions and promoting awareness regarding access to justice initiatives in India.
Established under the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987, NALSA plays a vital role in providing free legal services to the weaker sections of society and organising Lok Adalats for the amicable settlement of disputes.

The National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) was constituted under the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987 to ensure that opportunities for securing justice are not denied to any citizen due to economic or other disabilities.

Eligibility Criteria
Students fulfilling the following criteria are eligible to apply:
Eligible Courses
- Students pursuing a Three-Year LL.B. Course from a recognised University, College, or Institution.
- Students pursuing a Five-Year Integrated Law Course from a recognised University, College, or Institution.
Preference Criteria
Preference will be given to:
- Students in the 3rd to 5th year of the Five-Year Integrated Law Programme.
- Students in the 2nd to 3rd year of the Three-Year LL.B. Programme.
Duration of Internship
The internship programme will be conducted for a period of one month (four weeks).

- The internship will commence on the 1st day of the respective month.

- Interns are expected to remain available throughout the internship duration.

Internship Certificate
Interns who successfully complete the internship programme will receive a Certificate of Internship.
Conditions for Award of Certificate
- Minimum 90% attendance is mandatory.
- Interns failing to meet the attendance requirement will not receive the certificate.
Recommendation Letters
NALSA has clarified that:
No Letter of Recommendation (LOR) shall be issued to interns.
Internship Guidelines
Selected candidates will be required to adhere to the following guidelines:
Accommodation and Expenses
- Interns must arrange their own accommodation.
- No TA/DA will be provided.
Stipend
- No stipend or remuneration will be paid during the internship period.
Working Hours
Interns are required to follow NALSA office timings:
- 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Monday to Saturday
Attendance Requirement
- Minimum 90% attendance is compulsory.
- Students are advised not to apply during university examination periods.
Laptop Requirement
Interns must carry their own laptops for internship-related assignments.

Dress Code
The prescribed dress code shall be:

Discipline
