Internship Programme Overview
The Department of Legal Affairs conducts an Internship Programme aimed at providing young law students and fresh graduates with practical exposure to government legal work. Interns will receive training in diverse legal fields such as:

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must be Indian nationals who meet one of the following criteria:
- Passed the 2nd year of a three-year LL.B. programme
- Passed the 3rd year of a five-year integrated LL.B. programme
- Completed a law degree from a recognized institution
Preference will be given to candidates with advanced computer skills in MS Office, Adobe, infographics, and similar tools.
Internship Duration and Locations
- Duration: One month, starting from the first working day of each month
- Locations: Multiple, including New Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Bengaluru
- Interns will be assigned to various sections/officers in the Main Secretariat, Central Agency Section at the Supreme Court, Litigation HC Section at Delhi, and Branch Secretariats.

Selection Process
Each month, 50 candidates will be shortlisted for the programme. Selection will be based on the guidelines provided, and shortlisted applicants will be notified via the Internship Portal or email.
Stipend and Certificate
Upon successful completion, interns will:
- Receive an honorarium of ₹1,000
- Be awarded a Certificate of Internship (subject to 90% attendance and satisfactory performance)
Important Terms & Conditions
- Full-time internship: Physical presence is required; remote work is not permitted.
- Interns must arrange their own accommodation.
- Working hours: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM.
- Dress code: Formal black trousers with white shirt.
- Interns must maintain confidentiality and sign a non-disclosure agreement.
- Internship does not guarantee future employment.
